Good gravy... his soul? Judgment?
at any rate, here is my comment. He was fat and obviously suffered from hypertension. I am surprised he didn't keel over long before now.

Cheugon,
That is lose logic! It has nothing to do with the fact here. Do your job or do as you are told! We all face this perverted reality!

Vickip,
We are familiar with the quote. It does not apply here!

Soul Builder101,
And that does not say his humanity was not intact? Thanks for the words.

Re: Cheugon,
To imply that an individual is a sell-out....is to question his humanity and personal credibility.

This reminds me of another movie quote ...
"Stupid is as stupid does".  Forest Gump

I love your use of the word PLANTATION! Russert served his false Gods!

Cheugon,
Possibly? But in an industry driven by profit over "fact" finding that is all I am left with. I can only form an impression based on his work. And that is not a judgement on his humanity or personal credibility. Thanks for a moment to comment.

Vickip,
That is the only contact I know and that was the only message in this post. You stated it very well in your in suggesting that his close family and circle of friends are better positioned to judge him personally. It is up to them to divulge more intimate details of his humanity!

It's so easy to forget...
...that high-profile people are also human beings, sharing common needs, hopes and dilemmas with the rest of us.
I never got the impression that Tim Russert was the media apparatchik you made him out to be.
You obviously look at the industry without noticing the differences between the people in it.
And that is short-sighted and bigoted in it's own way.

We can only honor him for what he was 'paid to do'? Wow, how
do you figure?  Aside from being a great interviewer, he was a very good father, friend, son, brother ... by all accounts, this is said of him.  Only his wife knows what sort of husband he was, so no one can speak to that.  I honor him as a very good father who took time out to be there for his son, no matter what.  There are too few parents with careers who think of their children first - amazingly, he managed.  I'm blown away by your callous statement.  A lifetime reduced to one hour every Sunday morning.  Wow.
