Re: Sira890

Mac,

Morality and ethics aside, I've always found it curious that we're willing to give our furry friends a release from pain, but we won't do the same for people. I hope someone will do me the great favor of giving me a shot, when I'm on my last leg and in pain.

Thanks for reading

Sira890
A sad story, Sira.  What is happening to Gracie is what happens to us as we get older.  The 'getting put down' part may come in a few generations.

This post
made me cry, I can't imagine life without my darlings, but it is inevitable, and that time will come someday...

I wish your mother peace of mind for her tough, loving decision.
It's the kind thing to do, and I hope everyone concerned lets her know that.

I hate these animal family goodbyes. They hurt so
yes we can love another but it's a difficult time. I really feel for you all especially brave Mum

Sira
It's all very sad. I've been through this with our cats, all of them truly members of the family. It is always a struggle between reason and (ultimately selfish) sentiment, but compassionate reason always ought to win out, which dictates that you do not prolong their suffering...
