you find in the letters of the apostle Paul... yet there is not person, Christian or no... who would deny this guy and his followers are bonkers. Whether you follow a guy from 2000 years ago who predicted the end of time.. and said you had to be a part of the "in crowd" - or today... it is bonkers.

What is it about Texas "compounds"?

That state seems big enough to harbor all kinds of kooks. I used to live there and can attest to some rather frightening mind-sets. I'm sure these people will be drinking the magic koolaid before too long...

It seems that these people actually take their leader and his nonsensical beliefs seriously, which makes me wonder how many of these people have made life changing decisions on his predicted end of the world? What aspect of convincing people that they are a select group, favored to be saved by God when all others are doomed, allows them to ignore reality in such a manner?  . . . and the most puzzling part of this behavior is that they are not all mentally challenged individuals. Some of them are of average intelligence (despite their religious beliefs) and this is true of a number of similar cults with beliefs as similarly whacky. Is it the power of the leader's charisma, or the pressures and influences of others in the group? . . . I don't get it.
