your comment about the destruction of hurricanes...

I understand that sorrow: here, there is a wonderful mysterious area of mounded prairie that used to have some fine walks in and out of trees, and the mounded earth having both woodland and open meadow aspects--until someone thought it was a good idea to 'preserve' the mounded praire by cutting out most of the trees.  Idiots!  I was infurated to tears when I saw what they had destroyed!  They could have done what was needed without clearing out all the little glades and shaded walks.  It will grow back in time, but I will never see it.

Thanks, vicki! Ah yes, the casino - been there, done that, lost some money...And I agree, in Feb one has to know the city well to find its beauty...

It seems to me that they should be called Halifaxigonians.  They may be leaving off their better half by shortening it.  You could always crop the pot if you don't like it there, but I think it adds character to the photo.  LOL   I love your pictures.  Beautiful blues and greens.

Re:

Thanks, sam. It's gorgeous country up there at the Sault! I even spent a few weeks up there some years ago, and liked it a lot. But you probably know it better than I do...

And don't worry about the Time series. I'm not really happy with it at all, actually...

Re: beautiful restoration ...
Thanks, BC, The pictures I show do not show the ravages, there really is no point. Also, it would be difficult to recognize unless one knew what things looked like before. In any case, there's a lot of beauty left...

Oh Naut, Canada runs deep into me, just like America. I will check Troosha's blog. My sons' first camping trip was just outside the Sault. We took them on the train ride. It was pristine!!!! It has been one of my most cherished memories. The lay over in the canyon was to die for. Years later my sister-in-law wanted to see Canada and I took her there with my youngest son. It was heavenly! To re-visit a special place with a child is a treat. I thought about the time series I still haven't been able to read in full when I was writing my last celestial poem. Who says desert people aren't trainable?  lol  sam
