Re: Auslander
Poor Nautikos! We've got to change mentallies and politics in Canada. Start a cyclist Political PArty or something. Maybe we can get together when I come back and start one?!

Auslander

That's another thing: if I were to ride my bike in Germany, I don't think I would worry about having a 'dunkles bier', a 'helles bier', or even some 'wein'.

But because there are so few of us cyclists here in Canada, and drivers don't pay attention to us,  I can't ever have anything like that, even though one of my regular routes actually ends at a pub were I often have a few! Unfortunately, I have to ride by there, without any refreshment other than from my water bottle...

Re:
Dear sam, I haven't tried that one yet. Just one big Dunklesbier is usually enough to make me sleepy, so you can imagine what would happen if I had more...I wouldn't go very far before falling asleep on my bike! LOL

Auslander, you are so funny, I just love you to pieces. Years ago when I imbibed, I was good! However, my daughter wanted to rent a movie and convinced to ride with her to the movie rental store. On the way back, feeling the grain and hops, I thought I could weave in and out of mail boxes on the street until I clipped one with my elbow and it laid me flat out. I laid there laughing because I was in so much pain (from the stupidity of my liquid courage). Therefore, I now refrain from the BUI, biking under the influence!  sam

Re:

Taps, you're right: smack in the middle of Asparagus country! They even have a cute life-size bronze sculpture with a woman selling asparagus to a little girl with her dog. (It'll be soon on my web-site).And the season, for the white ones at least, is almost over already. Tschüs.

I understand that this place is in the "Asparagus Triangle".  Does it happen to be spargel season there now?
