I find it interesting that Obama hasn't made promises to lower the cost of fuel--instead, he's supporting it, for reasons that are almost logical. After all, we've seen a huge rise in sales of hybrid vehicles, people are more mindful about the energy they're using, and it's prompting a lot of research into more eco-friendly energy sources.
True, getting gas is now a painful experience. But the high prices are making us a more thoughtful group of consumers, and that's probably not a bad thing.
He could have lied, made some empty promises to bring the costs down and take some pressure off our wallets. It would have been a popular thing to say. But he was, I think, quite honest here. And that's not a bad thing either.
