Lewis Terman is the guy who popularised the concept of IQ (intelligence quotience) or IQ Tests. During the initial IQ tests scored assembled, he discovered some interesting patterns. One was that girls scored higher than boys, another was that whites scored higher than blacks, Mexicans and recent immigrants.
Terman decided that the first finding represented a flaw in the test while the second finding represented a real fact about human beings. Hence he went back and tweaked the questions until the gender difference disappeared. With the gender issue taken care of, the earlier IQ tests almost always skew favourably towards the whites.
Just sharing a bit of what I've read from "How would you move Mt Fuji?"
With such "intelligent people" in positions of power and influence, it is no wonder that we have such an "amazing" definition for "intelligence".

Some 20 years ago I dated a doctor who said the same thing.
In the interest of research, without telling him he was an idiot and I had already crossed him off my list, I asked him to explain the basis for his theory. He expounded and pontificated, the most puffed up and self-important little white guy I've ever met, talking down to me as though I were a child, confident that he was amazing me with his brilliance. We'd just come from a nice dinner, he was serving a very nice wine. If he'd kept his mouth shut, he might have gotten lucky, but I developed a blinding headache and went home. Racism in fancy words and the damn lies of statistics is still racism.

If black people are blank people then girls rule and boys drool according
to several reports I read over the years that boys aren't as ready at age 5 for learning as girls. Nice way to put it! How confusing would an IEP be without the race box checked!
Great read however I understood it, I got a great Education in Memphis, Tn. and Books and Life and from every diverse in the universe.
