Re: Dark_Moon - there is no aggravation at this point
Interesting about Canadian logic on such things

I mean it is perfectly sensible

What's amazing to me is that I can be influenced to think some causes are even causes

needing of a revolution when all they really need is enough rope to hang themselves

Dark_Moon - there is no aggravation at this point

This took place awhile back and I view it purely as humor now. Glad you got a chuckle out of it, which was my intention with this post.

In my country, there basically was no landmark decision to remove prayer from schools. The practice more or less died a natural death via the illustration of its impraticality from a number of different avenues. As an example; When the parents of immigrant children began requesting equal time for prayers of other faiths to some local school boards, there was only one solution. Still, prayer in public schools hung around until the late 80's in some jurisdictions.

GD, I know you are aggravated, and rightfully so, and so please, pardon me that I burst out laughing during my reading of your post. What caused me to LOL and almost ROFLOL was the comment from the guy about how, well, you MUST know her, because she is your leader! LOLOL OMG That is just hysterical. GD, you don't even know who your leader is? My God, what idiots. As far MMOH, I remember her well. She was in her heyday when I was in my early 20s. She garnered a lot of press. Also, at the time, I lived in her then hometown of Austin, TX. I think you're right about her being an opportunistic self-serving bitch but, that can be said of a whole lot of people who are prominent in the press and politics and on t.v. and other media, etc. There was nothing appealing about MMOH at all. But, she served the very valuable function of standing up to the status quo, standing up to the conventional wisdom, standing up to the 'powers that be', not letting dogma just steam roll over everything else. I did not like the woman at all but, I like anyone who shakes up the status quo. The American Founding Fathers were a thorn in the side of the status quo. Jesus was a thorn in the side of the status quo. Unfortunately, in today's world the squeaky wheel gets the press. The White Supremacists used to be regulars on main-stream t.v (I don't know if they still are, I don't watch t.v.). Makes it look like that their power is much greater than it is. This was also true of MMOH. Thanks for the laughter. Sorry it was the expense of aggravation to you. BTW, I don't comment a lot. Doesn't mean I don't read. Moon

mysteria - Re: Gomedome, I read with shock and interest her biography

It is frustrating, but moreso in having to deal with these people who are even capable of coming up with these unworkable comparisons. Like how do you tell someone nicely that they are too stupid to breed?

I stopped into the link you provided in your second comment . . . too funny.

Gomedome, I read with shock and interest her biography
The way she met her demise surely enforced in many religious adherents, God's just justice

My goodness, what a lurid tale!

I can imagine your frustration in being lumped together with such a creature

It is a shame she garnered any legacy at all
