RSM, do we need to go into the chances of you being right?
I always love that poorly conceived reasoning. if you are right, then I will be amazed. Of course it depends on which parts you are right about, since you can't be right about them all. if there is a Hell then God is either not all-powerful or not all-loving. You can't have Hell with an all-powerful and all-loving God. It just doesn't work. But hat all ahs to do with logic and common sense, which even though you deny it, you clearly fear such things.
And no, it is NOT a fact. It is YOUR beliefs. Seriously, get over yourself.
'
Yes, you did imply everything I wrote here was about you. Here is what you said "I have never stated that we should end science. Stop putting words in people's blogs that are not there then claiming it is fact."
If you did not think I was talking about you in this post, then why would you claim I was putting 'words in people's blogs' after claiming you never said any such things?
You really don't have any clue at all as to what you say in your comments here. Seriously man, all making such statements is doing is showing you to be about as foolish as it gets.
I am glad however to see that after you show a complete lack of respect for someone's beliefs, you are willing to see that you were a jerk (At least if they believe in God, since you are blind to the fact that you treat atheists, agnostics and liberal this way all the time) and apologize for you problems with not being able to deal with people who do not see the world as you do.

Re: RSM, get over yourself
"Not everything I write is about you after all. I know you put yourself as the end all and be all of both Christians and Conservatives but that does not mean I do. I have never once claimed that you wish to end science. That is just your ego. Yes, your post did inspire me to write this one, but that does not mean that I make any claims that you follow all the ideas expressed here."
This is a perfect example of your arrogance. I never once, in my comment, said that this post was about me, not once. I have never "put myself as the end all and be all of a Christian Conservative." I simply post my opinions. you do all the rationalzing which proves my point that you put out there things that people have never said plus you assume much. You post things as truth that are not; you just seem to proclaim your own facts as truth when they are not so. I do not have an ego. You then go on to admit my post inspired you. Who cares? I simply commented on this topic. You think entirely too high of yourself. Get down off the pedistal, Your opinion is the same as every other American.

I apologize my friend. I often do not realize just how much the truth stings. Hope your beliefs are right for your sake and mine!

Re: Re: Re: RSM, get over yourself
Good for you and your G_d! At least you believe in something! I could care less if I was in the minority anywhere! If you were in a radical terrorist nation then I am sure you would not only be in the minority but would also be dead. if your G_d is different than my belief in God then so be it. Get over it gap!

Re: Re: RSM, get over yourself
RSM - prosthletize much? "I can not say the same about you if the tables are turned, which unfortunately is a fact" - not exactly sure what you base your "facts" on? As I've said in my comments before, you'd be in the minority in most other parts of the world; every major religion seems to have their own set of unprovable "facts." I, myself, believe in G-d, but she seems to be very different from the One you attest to Know.

Re: RSM, get over yourself
Oh, I do not fear science or logic. If by some highly improbable occurence that when I pass on I then find out you were right then obviously I have nothing to fear. I can not say the same about you if the tables are turned, which unfortunately is a fact.

RSM, get over yourself
Not everything I write is about you after all. I know you put yourself as the end all and be all of both Christians and Conservatives but that does not mean I do. I have never once claimed that you wish to end science. That is just your ego. Yes, your post did inspire me to write this one, but that does not mean that I make any claims that you follow all the ideas expressed here. There has been for some time a great resistance by believers to follow science. We see this greatly with creationism, which really is NOT science, but an attempt to ignore science while claiming not to.
Logic and science are not minuscule, but are the foundation for everything in our society. We would have NOTHING without them. Logic and science are the building blocks for everything we have and everything that is to come for us.
And I do not worship them, but I understand the importance of them and the benefit of using them to guide one's life.
Science and logic can explain everything, it is our knowledge that is limited. You've yet to provide and proof that says otherwise. Just because you want quick, easy answers, does not mean that we need to just give up and let religion take over when we are missing pieces.
The problem is that you fear facts. You are unable to deal with logic and so you try tot write it off, because logic for the most part proves you wrong in a great many areas. I believe you are also one of those who greatly fear that science can prove God wrong given time, and so you wish to try and discredit science in order to not have to admit to being wrong.

kooka_lives- I wish I had a nickel for every time I have been asked to dumb
it down and simply believe.
I find it remarkable that having the intelligence to question the implausible can somehow be viewed as a detriment to one's spiritual well being by some people. Even more remarkable is how some people bandy back and forth between utilizing science and logic to support their irrational conclusions, while chastising science and logic as an enemy of faith.
I completely agree with what you are saying in this post, there is only that which we have yet to understand. To explain the inexplicable by accrediting it to a mythical omnipotent entity, is yet another primitive thought process inherited from our superstitious, cattle sacrificing ancestors.

How Elementary!
Who ever said that science should be stopped. Logic and science are great BUT they are miniscule in the realm of things. This is what I have tried to debate you on for a long time. You worship these three: logic, science and reasoning. They are all great things that our brains, which were created by God, can do and that is fascinating BUT again you do not get the whole picture. i have never stated that we should end science. Stop putting words in people's blogs that are not there then claiming it is fact.
I will respond to this with my own post which will fill in all the gaps that science and logic have within them and that is a fact. Science and logic can not explain everything. Do not make such easy targets as this one is.

Hey Kooka
You'd make a good Jew. We're instructed to ask questions from the time we start talking. The whole process of Torah, Talmud, etc. study is an excersize in questioning. Asking us to take something "on faith" is just not in our vocabulary!
