Polly wanna inbred cracker?
Little House on the Polygamy costumes don't do it for me. Just seeing these women freaks me out, actually coming into contact with one might reduce me to a prominent vegetative state -- a state like Utah.
I think you answered your own question: keep them completely covered, so there's no temptation. Please lead us not into temptation but deliver us from unibrows and Marge Simpson hairdos.

Polygamy, sounds like Bigamy.
As always, I love the way you put a humorous slant on current events, point out things that most people hadn't considered, etc. As you say, multiple wives make for an exponentially more difficult and frantic life. I wonder about how tightly wrapped a man has to be, to even want more than one wife. Maybe, even just ONE! I would be willing to bet that many, MANY of them come to the,"It seemed like a GOOD idea, at the time." moment, after it is too late to go back. I think that the government ought to stop procecuting bigamists. Bigamy is it's OWN punishment. Polygamy, too!
I stopped by the "single life" site, just for a refresher course on how women think, when it's "just us girls" talking. This site is really just one big GIRLS CLUB. I would hate to be obsessed with clothing, hairstyles, sagging, wrinkling, puffiness, how malleable, child friendly, rich and handsome, prospective husband material is, how he dresses, how to make it appear that women think like, and appear to enjoy the same things as he does, knowing that all that stuff will improve the chances that they will become, or again become Mrs. SOMEBODY! As soon as the wedding takes place, then all the masks can be discarded. The cycle has begun again.
I don't mean to sound like Andrew "Dice" Clay, but the two genders are so different from each other, if the sex drive wasn't soooo compelling, we would voluntarily segregate ourselves from each other, in the interest of living peaceful lives and being as contented as it is possible, ever to be.
This is something that I am reluctant to say or admit to thinking, but my life has led me to feel this way. I hope that I am wrong about this, but see little evidence to convince me otherwise.

this is a subject i have much insight on
no astrolube, no ky, ankles can't show, lipstick or makeup is vanity, as is short skirts and pierced ears or jewelry of any kind. Women don't go to heaven. they become men before they go to heaven, don't ask, by osmosis perhaps, and the more wives, the more kids, the more chance of bringing the message to the world. What message?? Beats me. I believe in a Greater Higher Power, A creator, and in reincarnation. Jealousy is not allowed, neither is celebrating birthdays, or any other kind of holiday, not even Christmas. Pictures aren't taken because of vanity, it has nothing to do with the Native Beliefs that it took the soul away. Burial is the only way, no cremation allowed. No, I don't know what happens if the house blows up by a gas leak. Only certain foods are allowed, nothing like sausage because it is made from the insides, and definitely no television or radio because that might be a bad influence. IT's one man's way, or the highway. But, if you choose the highway, you might not live to talk about it. It is unacceptable for a woman to remarry after the death of her husband but not acceptable for a man to remarry after the death of his wife. All children are home schooled, attend Bible study daily and go to church twice on Sundays and once on Weds. If any kind of punishment is to be doled out to the children the leader, not the parent decides what kind it is to be. YES, we are aware that they are in TEXAS, but for the most part we would like for them to be elsewhere. The education includes the three R's so to speak, and for a girl, it includes homemaking, etc. For a boy it includes carpentry, because Jesus was a carpenter. Frankly i think that perhaps in one in particular that I know about, the picture thingy is because he was probably a mobster, who was used to control, but when the going got tough he sang like a bird and walla, got a new life. What better place to hide, than behind the skirts of a church. How better to control people to do your bidding? Make them think you are a prophet of God, sent to save them from evil, provide them with a home for their families, and food for their children. Keep them apart from the other influences of the world. A woman would never take on more than one husband, she is too sensible for that. Good grief, it's hard enough to train one. Besides, if she did, then she would be a wanton woman. And that would be SINFUL. DUHHH
