This is incredibly powerful voice as Elyse said. I was taken with baptized to civil rights and born to scholars; I find it to be profound in that it becomes the essence of survival. What many take for granted( few are born to scholars) and move along through life unaffected, you have had to claw your way through. Even with a magnificent start of being endowed genetically by scholars, the fight continues due to the struggle of civil rights. And yet, you muster the fortitude to move forward. This just pains me so that people can't come out of the starting block on their own volition and make their genuine and unique contribution to society. I wonder if people will ever get it. Well, I am proud of you! I like how you use your poetry to convey what has happened and then always showing the drive to move forward. I need to take a lesson from you myself because I can throw in the towel a little early at times. Your work carries great depth. I love you my friend. sam
