kooka, real change comes ONLY from the silly idealistic, optimistic

people who believe that we should walk our talk and talk about reality and its improvement.
Power to the bravehearts who stand in fear and keep standing until their fears dissipate and changes are made. Or, until the ignorant mobs kill them and they become martyrs for their just causes.....power to the people who are real when everyone else is not.

I believe it was a group of optimistic, idealistic and unrealistic warriors who over two hundred years ago decided that they needed to create some country that had no real name to it based on the ideas of freedom and justice.  I think I can handle being called that.

So thank you for that great compliment.

After all history is made more by the optimistic, idealistic and unrealistic than anyone else.

kooka, you silly goose. What an optimistic, idealistic, unrealistic

WARRIOR you are. May Americans begin to become educated once again and make the need for these ancient explanations disappear.
One nation under whatever you'd like it to be under.....with liberty and justice for all.

kooka_lives - there will come a time when to speak out is not as necessary

as it is today but I cannot see this happening anytime soon.
If there were no objections to religious traditions being imposed on the rest of society, it is a safe bet that the inequity inherrent in this practice would never be considered by far too many people. We need not look any further than this site to see the number of people that just don't get it. That the protection of the individual from the religious beliefs and traditions of others, also protects those who would impose their viewpoints on the rest of us.

agreed...atheists are often closer to the concept of universal brotherhood than these brow beating religious types - just goes to show that discourse is necessary in the end.

                    CHRISTIAN FUNDAMENTALISTS DON'T REALIZE

that they threaten their own freedoms by attempting to abridge that of others.
The concept of freedom of religion is also freedom FROM religion.
