It was nice...
that you explained what the poem was about. I was able to capture in my mind, what the castle would be like. Nicely written. The thought of a mysterious death, gave me chills!

Are King Louis II and King Ludwig the same person? I thought it was Ludwig whom built Neu Schwanstein.

Having been away completely from Blogitville for a couple of weeks, I missed your departure from Miami! And now you're in Bavaria, which I enjoyed on several visits. I even took the boat to Herrenchiemsee, but did not visit the castle, feeling a little 'castled out' on that occasion. And I love your poem! Also, congrats on having your story published!
I know the occasion for this trip is not a pleasant one, but I hope it will somehow bring closure and a greater peace of mind...

Great idea to give us the background my friend........
it made the understanding behind the poem easier and gave it an imagery it may have been missing otherwise; very well done and thank you

Very nice poem!
I can just see poor Ludwig II by the lake realizing that, eventhough he had bankrupted Bavaria for his dreams of grandeur, he could not finish his caslte. Tschüs.

Riveting story. I was not familiar with it. I enjoyed the poem but, would not have understood at all without the prelude. So thanks for that. I like it when Blogiteers tell us what the poem is about. Moon
