I am thinking of Sonnet No. 7, Imbibe.  And thank you for ordering my second book.  I hope you like it as well.

There's an old Latin saying "In vino veritas" (in wine, truth)

Years ago I lived the experience described in your poem -- and no, I did not go in to work the next morning. I remember feeling grateful for the physical pain in my head; it took my mind off the loss and betrayal. I hope you'll feel much better soon. :)

 Keep writing!!!

Sinome
Despite the "volumes of sad unwritten verse" you make them come alive as only you can. I must commend you on your beautiful work of art. Know that I am a great fan of your's.

Thanks Vogue,  Sorry you are going through such a rough period.  Being back home can not be easy...and you must miss your Mom something terrible.  I lost mine 4 years ago and I still miss her every day.  Take care of you and do not hesitate to let me know if I can help in any way.  Take care of you and thank you for your comment.

Sam, you are a great Mom, I just felt bad ...there I was drinking myself to oblivion for such a trivial selfish thing and you so strong for your family.  You are really an inspiration to me.  I love you so much.  Thanks for your nice comment :-)

Re: Your poem shows you coming to terms despite getting drunk.
You are so sweet. Wow! you have published two books?   I do not have that one  but I will get it,  which poem is it?  Thank you for your nice comment.

Your poem shows you coming to terms despite getting drunk.
Not having gotten drunk myself, part of my general weirdness I suppose, it was never part of my coping.  All the emotions are keenly felt when drink is either not used or ineffective.

Very affecting verse.  It makes one want to dry your tears and comfort your brown eyes.

Love,
Carl Peter

PS: I have a poem in "Sonnets for the Spanish" you may like along this vein.

What a great poem. I adore this so much. In the past I have been there myself. My dear Marta, I read your comment and I have never once thought you were a whiner over anything. We all have different avenues in life and our pain is always real. I encouraged my children to go and grab life by the horns and make it a worthy existence. They have done that. The choices worry me to no end but they are happy and it is rewarding for me. I would rather have them involved in something that makes a contribution as opposed to a self-centered life. sam

Nice Poem

In a sense, we are all drunk at one point or another, in different ways.

Yet, we keep holding on cause we know we can take it, if we just hold on

a little while longer, joy comes in the morning.

I think drinking is just a temporary fix, like expressed in your poem.   Talia
