I actually saw that car in person...

...when it came to an Auto Show in Baltimore back in 1970.
The gangsters of the early twentieth century were reminiscent of the outlaw gangs of the Wild West. Using cars instead of horses.
And a pair like Bonnie and Clyde brought an aura of mystery and romance to it.
Excellent poem to accompany it, by the way.
