MandaLee and Ciel, thank you both for your kind comments. I'll be better, just a bad day. I appreciate the idea for the steps Ciel, but that slipperiness isn't the only problem. There are no railings to hold on to, which makes the situation worse.
All the same, have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Maybe you could get some stair-tred carpets to cover those slippery steps?
We have had to solve this problem, and found rubberized welcome-matts that we cut to fit the steps.
