I believe it evolves....
kind of like fashion reinvents itself, constantly!  Stay patient! There is someone listening to you right now, and probably working on a record!  In the mean time it doesn't hurt to listen to some of your favorites!  I know, I never get sick of mine! Talia

Let me send you to the keepers of the flame, my friend. There are still a
a few who write good music, good lyrics, and produce a little better stuff than Good Charlotte and that godawful Maroon 5.  Check out progressive rock and power metal on your XM or Sirius.  Bands like Porcupine Tree and Camel are keeping the sounds of classic rock rolling.  Dream Theatre is doing a helluva job as well.  In the power metal genre, there are dozens of bands keeping the flame alive, but you have to go to Europe to find it.  Some of the lyrics are a bit pretentious, but, then, so was Kansas and Yes.  Go get yourself a copy of Joe Satriani's latest CD and find instrumental rock is far from dead.  Classic rock is classic rock, but music got depressing with the alternative genre.  People are looking for hopeful things again (and with the economy looking wounded, hope in any form is appreciated), so look for a move back to the clearer, purer sounds of music in the next decade.  Check out Atreyu.  They'll make you feel better... And welcome to Blogit...

Re: Re: Boooooohooooo, don't complain about new music....as the time change
You are just the type of person I'm writing about in this piece. There is no good music out today or I would surely like it. I'm not asking for musicians to sound the same way they did years ago, but to put substance to their lyrics instead of the ridiculous crap you call music. I respect your opinion but I definitely don't agree. I am open and today's music sucks. Not because of style, but content. In order to be a "rock" band today you have have been picked on as a kid and be screaming about it well into your thirties. You call that music? Please....grow up man.

music get browning too......A MIXTURE OF NEW GENERATION.........WE ALL LOVE SOME FROM PAST, BUT WE NEED THE PRESENT AND FUTURE......SO LET IT BLEND ALL..........MUSIC IN ANY FORM GIVE THE BEST OF TIME WILL SURVIVE.......JUST BECAUSE THE OLD WAY OF living so natural, we can't turn back totally up to the primitive age........we are on a roll......so we need to have the best of every thing ......So be open....and accept the best of yesterday, today and tomorrow.......sure it will rock.

Well what I mean exactly by rock being dead is that all that rock and roll stood for has come to a screeching hault in this generation. It feels like all we have left is classic rock, which seems to stand the test of time. I just feel like the modern rock today is just a fad that will soon pass away...or at least I hope so lol.

I enjoyed your thoughts. I really don't think rock is dead, just a rock star. I have been following my group since 168. 40 years of rock and roll for me. Welcome to Blogit!    sam

ROLLING STONES TOURS SHOW THAT ROCK N ROLL IS NOT DEAD
Young concert goers at appearances by Stones, Dylan, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, other rock icons -- these all attest to the continued vibrance and import of Rock and Roll.  I have to check into a Chuck Berry appearance at a local establishment to see how many young people are there -- he appears at a certain place in a St. Louis suburb once a month.

I am glad you are here and glad you are into the best music of all time.
