Thank you... I am up and around on a cane now. I have to have elecric shock on my quad muscle (it forgot how to lift my leg) and I am working on stamina now. I am walking for the first time in about a decade.

Goddess,
If you feel capable of being on your own while Tom is at work, you do just that. I think what these nurses don't realise...or just plain even take into consideration...is that part of your healing and rehab process is to be ALONE for as often and as long as your body will physically allow.
When I had my knee surgery, they wanted to send me home on my own after only a week in hospital. When I refused because I wouldn't be able to look after myself, they wanted to send me to the nursing facility where my mum works in housekeeping.
I told them HELL NO! I was going to the rehab centre at the next hospital, which was only twenty minutes away. They tried their damnedest to wriggle out of it, but thankfully my surgeon agreed and off to the rehab centre I went.
When I came home two months later, they sent a home health care nurse to check in on me. After the first visit, I told her in no uncertain terms not to come back.
