Re: Hi Sam, thank you for the comment!
One of the great things about poetry, is that you can go for more than one interpretation, I believe. Important for me, is also the "hook" (why should I read this?) and if there is some music in it (rhyme & rhythm). Like you, I want my poems to be the best they can be. I will  let you know what "stings my eye", if you let me know when there is some "bad English" in my poetry (I enjoy writing in English, but it is nog my first language, you know!)

I was intrigued with the use of tombe'; at first I went to ballet, the legs of the spider being bent and the landing od some, etc, but settled on falling. I found this imagery to be exciting because I had the freedom within the poem to take more than one literal interpretation. FANTASTIC!   {I saw your comment that you are drawn in by the first two lines, I wanted to extend an invitation to let me know anything that stings your eye so to speak. I want my poems to be the best they can be. Thank you}.   sam

Awesome!  I loved your poem.  Sometimes, I find that when there are such preparations to introduce a work, the poem itself is no big deal, but in this case, separate from its setting, your poem holds great poetical value. it is actually, in my humble opinion, excellent.  The images are well placed and you seem to have captured the feelings of that seven year old.  Together with the visual and auditory effects it is amazing. ( still scary :-)) Bravo!  you are a true artist.
