Very sad, indeed, yet when we think we've let something slip through our fingers, something "new" can just as easily come along.

Nicely done and a message to gather ye rose buds while you may. Time is
surely fleeting.

This truly is a great message to say the things we need to say before there isn't an opportunity. I so enjoy reading your poetry, it has a wonderful cadence.  sam

Don't you touch this poem, it is great!!.  Sometimes we leave a space in the middle for the imagination to fill in.  John is right that there is a gap, but its not necesarily a bad thing. I think the whole poem is grand.  It came from your heart and it shows.  :-)

Great poem.

Reminds me of my sister and a relationship she had years ago, now she's

miserable and going through another divorce.  Thanks for sharing .

Re:
I see your point. Thanks for pointing that out. Back to the drawing board with this one. I'll need to make some revisions. Thanks.

Hummn...you got me wondering. If it weren't true for you then, why would it be true for you now? Your poem seems to have 2 parts, but no explanation in the middle that would tie them together, Is this really a lost love, or just a lost thought?

Don't mind me, I'm just always looking for the connections,

John

I'm truly sorry

All is not lost, I am still learning - although I am on the other side facing the knowledge of being tossed away while she now tells me I was the one and she didn't know it, and I ache because it is over and I still love her with all my heart. And the hurt comes from having to walk away as I understand yours is having to let go.. You are right the timing was not right but, with hope - one day.. it will be and what a joy that will be.

"the best fruit is on top of the tree"

keep going!
