Re: Sira
Naut,
I have yet to find a person that Mark can't handle. But if we ever do, you'll be the first person I call!

Too bad you have idiots for neighbours! But good for you for not backing down! I take it Mark can handle that guy! Otherwise, I'd say call me...

Re: Sira890
I agree Mac!
We haven't seen the dogs out since Mark had a little "chat" with the owner, so hopefully he's smartened up a bit. Either that, or he's waiting until we're gone to unleash his beasts...
Thanks for reading

Any dog owner who lets his or her dogs run free like that, shouldn't have any dogs. Although the breed is friendly, they could kill a child just by rolling over them.

Re: Nothing like a badly trained dog (or two) to irritate the neighbors. I hope
Yeah, he's only renting. And we're not expecting him to stay long--no one ever stays long in that house!
I can't imagine being related to an idiot like that...we've got enough bad branches in my family tree!

Re:
LOL Kabu--yes, he's certainly on the top of my shit list!
Everyone seems to be of the same mind--that the other neighbors should have come out to help. I guess it just never occurred to me that I should have been expecting help. I was just happy that he'd bothered to come say "thanks".
As for calling the cops--I did think about it. But imagine the conversation: "Hello, officer? Yeah, can you come over here please; my neighbors dog just pooed on my yard"...I'm making the vast assumption that the police have better things to do, so I decided to leave it alone. Plus, I knew Mark was only about 5 minutes away.
Incidently, I'm forbidden from even talking to the neighbor, unless Mark is home.

Re: I love how bystanders, who hear the whole thing,
LOL vickip! It wasn't really a matter of having "balls", to be honest. I just got so mad, I guess I kind of...well, snapped. Funny, how people suddenly grow a set when they're good an riled!

Re: Sira890
LOL Wiley! Yes, I do--big brass ones!
I always call Mark at the first sign of trouble, because I know he'll have my back.
Part of the reason I married him actually--I needed someone big enough to back up my big mouth

Re:
Vogue,
I suppose it is typical in this day and age--no one wants to make a fuss, or get involved. But it's funny, I never even looked at it like that, until people started commenting here. I guess I'm just used to doing things myself, and it never occurred to me that someone else could have (or should have) stepped in to help.
I doubt Mark will get me more shoes, since he didn't think I needed these ones in the first place.

Re: I have to question the sensibilities of a new neighbor welcoming himself
I don't know FYS, but I get the impression that he's gotten this far in life by using intimidation and scare tactics.
And there is a fence--his entire back yard is fenced in! My theory--he's too dense to figure out how to operate the latch on the gate...

Nothing like a badly trained dog (or two) to irritate the neighbors. I hope
the guy is only renting and has a short lease. Just be glad he's not a relative.

this really is a shitty neighbour and that's the truth. But you done well. I agree where are all the helpers when you need them most. and my advice, if you have more trouble just ring the police. A big burly nice guy standing beside you would be good.

I love how bystanders, who hear the whole thing,
are glad to say "good going" after the fact but don't have the balls you obviously have, to jump in and say their piece. You did good. I think there may be laws, depending on where you live, against keeping the dogs outside on a leash for any length of time.

Well done, standing up to the idiot. But itsn't it just typical: people are cowards and come out to celebrate your bravery after you alone have won the war. (I mean of course your neigbors.) Poor shoes. I hope Mark buys you another pair.

I have to question the sensibilities of a new neighbor welcoming himself
to the neighborhood in this horrible manner. Who does the idiot think he is? Those poor dogs. If he wants them to roam free, he needs to build a fence.
