Re: wow, great information!

Thank you for the visit.  You will see a change in your health.  I sometimes

drink herbal teas, which are better for you if you like tea, if not, you might

acquire a taste for it.  Here's to better health!

wow, great information!
So I need to stop having a glass of wine for dinner???  Drats.  I didn't know that soft drinks deplete calcium!  Going to have to cut way back on my Dr. Pepper addiction!

Re:

I highly recommend Silk, soy milk, which is what I use.  There are several

other milks, such as rice milk, and milks made from nuts and seeds.

cashew milk is very good and you can make it yourself.  There is a book

called Milk Recipes from Nuts & Seeds, by Edith V Edwards.  It's fantastic!

Re: Kolekshuns

The best way not to forget is to carry some with you.  I used to have

the same problem, so that's what I do.

Re: Milk

Milk is high in calcium, but it's vitamin-mineral content is not ideal for

children or adults as a principle food.  It contains too much sodium

and too little vitamin C and too little iron.  Under some conditions it

interferes with the absorption of iron.  It is also believed to bind zinc

in a way that reduces its utilization by the body.  Zinc is an important

substance in the nutrition of man.  Milk is low in zinc.  Nuts, dry legumes,

and whole grains contain up to ten times more zinc than milk.  Milk also

increases electrolytes which causes renal problems.  Cows milk is not

good for human consumption.  Babies should be totally breast-fed for

the first six to eight months of life, then have well-prepared table foods

introduced gradually.  They should have well cooked--over an hour

for mushes and porridges to guard against sensitivities of their immature

digestive tracts.  When the child is weaned, it should be to table foods

  and not formula.

Re: I've long-since given up carbonated beverages. Water's usually enough.

Coffe is not all bad for you.  It's good for reducing cellulite by making body

scrubs and several other things.  I like a cup every now and then myself.

and I love the smell of it.

Re: Did you know....

You are correct.  Our bodies do sometimes mistake hunger for thirst.

I'm not trying to convert you to just water, too much water can do as

much harm to your body as well as other beverages.  Balance is what

is needed in drinking and eating.  As the saying goes, too much of a

good thing is not good for you.

(please  nothing about coffee ) actually, I try to balance everything with a heaping 8 oz or so of water at least 4 times a day...and they say our bodies sometimes mistake hunger for thirst... ~ Elyse

I've long-since given up carbonated beverages. Water's usually enough.
I do like my coffee, although some think it's bad for us, but unless my doctor tells me to cut it out, I'm not giving it up... Your blogs are full of good info.  Thanks.

Really interesting stuff! But milk that is pasteurised is not good...and it is stored in the body as calcium etc!

Kolekshuns
As much as I'm pretty good at downing a few bottles of water a day I'm guilty of having those day when for some silly reason I forget.  The difference in how I feel is noticeable....
