wasn't anything like knocking "serving their country"
It is a fact that, if people don't pursue the necessary education, their choices become slim. One alternative then is military service that will provide for an education -- or become a career.
Mr. King was just stating the obvious.
It is odd how the obvious becomes a cause for criticism.
