Music or anything else that is created and coveted by mainstream
influences is a product to push... and just like other products that are pushed, it gets cut until it is a mere facsimile of the OG

My advice is to steer clear of anything that everyone likes...i think

Can't get around it.  But you know we'll probably be looking back with fondness at this time a decade from now.  By then, they'll be recording fingernails on chalkboards and calling it music.

Thank you, Lady.

Re: Sunnybeach7
You're not alone there.  Although, I'm mostly stuck in the 60s and 70s, which is weird, considering I wasn't born until 76.

Thanks for the comment.

Amen, CL...

Damn, some music today just sucks!  I'll stick to my eighties stuff, thanks very much!

Music has definitely changed.
Maybe that's why I'm still stuck in the 80's?

Re: Sam I Am
Jimi... they don't even have a Meatloaf.  I must have picked up on the vibe of the conversation with your boy.  I eavesdrop from time to time, you know.  :-)

Thanks for the visit.

Not even twent minutes ago my son and I were talking about music and he was knocking on a couple of bands (the bands deserved it as well) and I just said your generation doesn't have a Jimi. sam

Re: Dark_Moon
Sixtysomething dating a twentysomething ... can I have your autograph, sir?  Just as long as you're not from the Texas compound that is.  As long as you're doing it the old-fashioned way, i.e. you have an expensive sports car and a house in the Hamptons.

There's always good stuff out there.  That's the good thing about music.  It's life juice.

I'm almost 60 something. My "girlfriend" is 20 something. Otherwise I wouldn't hear any "new" music. A lot of it really sucks. It's either one extreme or the other - both bad. There is something in the middle that is actually very good. I was surprised. I don't know who any of these artists are or the names of any of the songs. Does the word anachronism ring a bell? Well, if the glove fits me, I must be guilty. Moon
