I think Bush's presidency has been a failure in many respects. But do you think for one moment that Iran would have acted differently if, for example, Gore had been president? Does anyone really believe Gore could have negotiated a stop to Iran's nuclear enrichment program? This guy Wexler is just spouting the usual partisan claptrap...

I think that is the reasoning people like Bush and Co. use as
justification for setting up shop, GlennB, but Iran is widening its base of operations.  Although it would behoove the U.S. to work with Iran to procure peace and stability in the region (and perhaps get Iran to relinquish their ideas of a nuclear state as well), I don't see that happening.  And in the meantime, Iran will continue to peddle influence where it can...

I am not so sure! Iran does not have the intellectual base to become a power peddler in the Middle East! It can continue to make things uncomfortable for America and the Jewish State! Thus keeping America in Iraq for centuries! I am certain that is the doctrine!
