I had writers block for over 2 years.

It sucked royally.  I have books on overcoming it, writing prompts, etc....the only thing that worked was to sit in front of my computer and do this:

I don't know what to write.  Every idea I have sucks.  I wish I could write about something.  Something.  What's something?  It's a Beatles' song.   I love the Beatles, especially George Harrison.  I loved his approach on life.  He had this mentality that.....and suddenly I was writing something.

the bottom line is, don't write for others.  Write for yourself.

Ok, food for thought, why is cheese so much more expensive than fresh fish or meat? See, me too, I have writer's block but the most stupid ideas want out.

When I have writers block, I like to play Scrabble or do a crossword puzzle.

Ha!! I l love the gnat
analogy ... too funny.   I call them tag-team gnats -- you kill that one pesky little bastid and in no time there's another one demanding your attention.  Great post!
