Lucky7th, I have never watched a reality tv show
but I love to watch a good movie every now and then especially romantic-comedies.

Simple enough for me: People love to confess, and like to be in the limelight for once in their lives. When else can they be the center of attention for a few million viewers. Also, since this is their world anyway, it's a leg up in prestige and attention. So, they seem to have some perception of themselves in their world experience--not that anyone can claim they ever looked into the mirror. But since when should the quality of mercy be restrained. So, maybe just lighted up.
After all, they're not exactly sociopaths...yet.
