I agree with both of you.  You could be a SOB, but if you "believe," (I'm just talking fundementalist Christian here), you're OK. And Kooka - I'm not a gay/lesbian aetheist but I did pull my sons out of Scouting when the prohibition of homosexual leaders was instituted.  Didn't make sense to me or to any of my gay friends!

kooka_lives - the commonality of this perspective makes one wonder at what

point the underlying ideals fall off of the rails.

Where does the validity of the religious message lose out to the importance of belief in of itself? That ultimately is not only what proponents of this perspective are suggesting but what they all too often demonstrate as well.
