Re: Simple assertion is not fact
Well, actually, I did not write that. Be that as it may: Mr. Peanut's actions fall perilously close to aiding and abetting. Is Hamas a terrorist organization, or is it not? And do not terrorists see percieved weakness as cause to attack? Osama bin Hidin did precisely that when he used the weakness we displayed at Mogadishu as further reason that we were ripe for a major attack. I assure you, Hamas sees Mr. Peanut and his actions as a sign of weakness on our part. Just remember how he had the Iranian terrorists in our Tehran embassy quaking in their boots.

Simple assertion is not fact
You write: Mr. Carter's "... eager defiance of the law threatens Americans at home and our troops abroad." But you offer absolutely no supporting evidence. And that's in your lead.

Mr. Carter may be wrong but to say that he threatens the troops by his actions without offering any backup is a propaganda technique.

In over two hundred years, no one has been convicted under the Logan Act (references easily found with Google). And the Patriot Act has many controversial flaws (see many recent issues of national publications). But whether Mr. Carter has violated these laws or not does not support your contention that he is a threat to our troops.

I saw something about this on Fox today - what an idiot he (still) is.
You are exactly right when you write: "None of these transgressors have been taken to task for their behavior. The responsibility for the nation’s foreign policy is constitutionally vested with the president. Jimmy Carter had his chance in the 1970s and made a mess of it. We should not allow him to speak for us now and should never elect a presidential candidate who pledges to meet with terrorist regimes “without precondition.”  Very good and informative post!
