How do we know if we are right or wrong?
Scripture says that when Jesus comes He will deny people who think they
have been doing the right things, but in fact, have done wrong. He will
demand that they depart from Him. We really need to test the scriptures
to see whether what we are doing is right. That is the only way we know
for sure. Satan, before Jesus comes will turn himself into an angel of light.
He will also be working miracles, so there is a thin line between right and
wrong and it is only through scripture that we can test it and know for sure
if we are right or wrong. Bibles are being changed and rewritten. King James
is the universal Bible which is the only one I trust. Study to show yourselves
approved.

kooka_lives - that's about it, I was invited to join the Masons as well but
have little time for such things.
A good number of people I know are Masons, so I tend to believe the defence of their secrecy as being a society with secrets and not a secret society. The rituals are not my thing but people tend to forget that aside from being a fraternal order, they are also a benevolent society. The Shriners branch of the Masons have built nearly 200 childrens hospitals worldwide, they are also large contributors to local charities in our area. I don't know what to tell people that somehow construe these things as some evil plot against humanity.

A great example of that kind of thinking comes from my best friend's wife. Both he and I were part of a group called DeMolay. it is basically as youth group associated with the Masons. Well his wife's father believes in all the Illuminati BS and has preached it all to her and part of his beliefs deal with the Masons being part of it all.
Now neither my friend nor I have anything to do with that group any more and neither of us was interested in becoming Masons (I think you have to be a chain smoker and balding to join anyway, so neither of us qualified there). When his wife found out that he had been associated with the Masons, she really did overreact. It was just ridiculous that such a thing would make her uncomfortable. But because her father has a weak grasp of reality and believe in such nonsense, he passed that on to his children.
Obviously we got to her and she grasped that she was overreacting and that the Masons were a harmless group of old balding men who just hang out and do rituals just to do rituals and speak about nothing for hours at a time, oh and they chain smoke every chance they get.

Kooka,
You write: "Until more believers start to stand and up say they won't let themselves get caught up in all that non-sense..." Why just "believers"? Shouldn't we all "call out" those whose reality is notoriously "warped" in the manner you describe here? I think we all know which blogger you are referring to.......
Just a thought........

You are wise
Hey, Kooka, you are wise beyond your years. Re:
We have a popular believer here on Blogit who has openly said no one has any control over their lives and the whole world is really controlled by a secret society and a group of ultra-wealthy people (People who have more wealth than is actually possible to exist). He has made it very clear that as far as he is concerned his whole life has been ruined by Satan and this secret society that has gone out of their way to target him and bring him down.
... I wrote about him on my own blog; after I differed with him on several issues, he shut me out, of course. I guess dialogue is not part of saving the world!
Based on his rantings about Zionists and "Jews have all the money" - I don't think it was the Illuminnati he was going on about. His outbursts mimicked the proven-fraudulent "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" - a "Mein Kampf" type diatribe that is still shuttled around today (albeit by Iran and other like-minded countries).
I just wanted to let you know that I enjoy your posts and agree with those I read. Keep up the good work. And hold your boys while you can. Mine are 16 and 17 and hard to pin down these days!!

kooka_lives - I read some of the posts here lately and have to ask myself
"What planet do these people live on?"
The "illuminati" is the name given to the secret elite group of world controllers. This half baked conspiracy theory is derived from a basis in reality in that a group calling itself the Illuminati was formed as a secret society in the late 18th century in Germany. Known as the Bavarian Illuminati, it is not believed that this group survived much longer as an entity than 20 years. It was basically premised upon what we would refer to today as corporate collusion and power brokering. When it is considered that there are and have been a number of secret societies existing around the world, from fraternal orders, to business cartels, to crime syndicates, all of these things in the conspiracy theorist mind, lend credence to the possibility of the so called illuminati.
The failing point of this particular conspiracy theory is that it completely discounts human nature, the one constant throughout history. Political and ideological adversaries from a number of different cultural backgrounds somehow manage to collude in an effort to control the world. Everything we see or experience is controlled by them supposedly. Wars and terrorist actions as well as all aspects of all world economies are controlled by this secret group. Somehow, every last one of them is so happy in their positions as world controllers and so bereft of conscience that not one of them has ever spoken publicly, thereby keeping the "secret" intact for centuries. These are the ravings of the mentally imbalanced and nothing more. The part I find the most disappointing is that when one of these deluded people write a post about this nonsense, no one says anything to the effect of "seek professional help immediately", instead they say things like "nice post"
