kooka_lives - "Open you Eyes!" - has to be the second most used phrase
The truth of the matter is that a certain amount of closed-mindedness is inherent in all of us. It is part of our natures to develop opinions based on what we know and believe to be true, adhering to them until presented with overwhelming evidence to the contrary. The part that always amazes me about this however, is when overwhelming evidence to the contrary is presented and they adhere to their beliefs anyways. Then they have the friggin gaul to suggest that other people are close minded.

Isn't it interesting as to how 'unopen-minded' we are
Those of use who actually go and view various beliefs and really think about them, ask questions and are willing to look at all ideas presented to us and being willing to alter our views when something is presented to us that has true merit. I am just so glad to know that doing such is being close-minded. I was so confused about what being open-minded was until I got here to Blogit and had all these believers tell me how closed-minded I was.

You make a lot of sense on this subject from the point of view of physiology. One of the major problems that philosophers have been struggling with for a long time is the fact that we observe the brain and everything else with a brain. This loop is probably the greatest challenge facing philosophy and neuro-physiology and may well remain an enigma.
