ignorant and don't know that a smile and an acknowledgment

Great observations. I think people, confronted with the young boy you discribed, are not really mean not talking to him, they are somehow helpless. They don't know what to say, so they play it safe and say nothing. Sad really, isn't it?

Lovely observations. People are taught to look for POSITIVE things! I guess a lonely cripple isn't 'positive' enough! Thanks for this!
