Beautiful tribute to your grandmother.  Sometimes people seem distant and bitter when in reality they are just shy and scared.  Who knows what your grandma felt deep inside, perhaps you treasure her things now because in your child's heart back then you saw through her facade.  I love your memories, ( I would get  rid of the platter with the Nazi symbol though... but that is just me... :-)) You are lucky to have them and smart to treasure them.

Oh this is very touching, BlueBossa ~ you move me with your poetry...so full of sentiment and just LOVE that comes from your heart.  Yes, often the ones that did not tender their hearts to us - leave such an indelible impression upon our lives...for one that wanted the love, always will search until they find it...even if in things that honor the memory - This just moved me ---  Elyse

Things have a way of going full circle! Life is so filled with irony! Thank you for your kind comments, you humble me so. HOW IS YOUR BROTHER? I am praying for him.  sam
