Re: Oh I know the feeling!!

Oh Kaboom! I can't imagine someone staying for so long--I'd probably end up putting 30,000km on the car, if I had to spend 8 months avoiding company!

Thanks for stopping by

Oh I know the feeling!!
I mean of the car, driveway as a haven, driving is a catharsis for me too!  As for having company, I understand that too....this is a little different, but we had my mil living with us for eight months.  I went driving every day, taking my laptop with me and writing in the car at the beach parking lot (engine off, windows open.  No way did I leave the engine running like so many people here do!!).  It is the thing which kept me sane!!

Re: Sira

Naut,

I'd head straight for my workroom, but we have an open concept sort of house--there's no door for them to knock on!

The car, however, is off limits to pretty much everyone, so that's my safest bet for hiding!

Re: Sira890

Wiley,

It sure is!! This will be the first time I've allowed anyone to spend the night in my house--it will be a new experience, if nothing else.

Re: I just read this and said "YES" I like my space now too now that I'm older

Kabu,

Having someone special to share it with seems to make the space that much nicer!

Thanks for reading

Re:

LLM,

I do like to hide out in my bedroom if possible. But just in case, I've got a full tank of gas in the car!

Re: I hope you enjoy the visit. And that they will enjoy being in your company.

Pat,

I'm sure we'll all have a good time. Mark's already planning his BBQ menu for the week, so at least I know the food will be good

Sira
I actually like guests who come early and leave late...but then the leaving part breaks down sometimes...which is why I keep an eagle eye on designated drivers...and of course with relatives from out of town things break down completely; and I too retreat sometimes, to my study, where everyone knows they enter ony by invitation...

I can really identify with you luv, I like the guests gone quickly so I can reclaim my space too. Now with Kabu here, I don't feel the need for other people. LOLAin't love just grand?

Sira,

If you start getting too uncomfortable, go and take a nice long hot bath.  If need be, excuse yourself to your bedroom and find a book to read for half an hour or so.  Don't worry too much, it's only for a couple of days.
