My son was plagued by these type of people all through school. He got it from his peers for being a boy scout.  It went on for six years until one day he had had enough and he punched the one boy so hard in the face he knocked him out. He thought he had killed him. The boy was okay but the scar it left on my son  will be for life. Then he chose to just give his pesterers (and that is all they are) a huge smile and no response. I would advise your niece to just grin and keep walking. When they leave crap, just say thank for thinking of me. The more your niece downplays the incidents the less fuel she gives them to continue. I tell you the smile is enough to unnerve the others and they will self destruct if she can keep her wits about her.  sam

I get it now..thanks for clarifying. Advice? I live for this stuff...............what should you do? Start by relaxing........this is SO commonplace........I have a daughter.....she just turned 18..her high school years were exactly like this. Don't go to the school unless you have no other choice. If they continue to make serious threats, of course, you have to go to the authorities (school). Encourage your niece/daughter to deal w/ it........calmly. Just make sure she know that she can ALWAYS confide in you.......no judgement on your part.

My Child or My Niece?
Readers, to avoid confusion, I consider my niece "Anna" as my child. I have legal custody of her. She has been with me since she was 8 years old. Many of you have shared my parenting pains here on BlogIt - guess this is just another chapter.

Question; Is this YOUR child or your niece? Do you have legal custody of the child in question?
