Xeno-x - Re: If it were designed by a perfect designer it would be perfect.
You articulate a very well thought out argument and I fully agree. I have no issues at all with proponents of origin speculation that incorporate divine influence. I can even accept evolution suggested as a mechanism utilized by a creator being if people are insistent on acrediting everything that exists to an invisible entity. But what I cannot abide is the constant denial of irrefutable truths and the disparaging of scientific principles (as well as its proponents) by people that simply do not know what they are talking about. How many times have we seen it here on Blogit ("Darwin's Big Bang Theory" aside), where someone blathers on about all they don't know about evolution? I've even seen posts that refer to it as "myth" or "faith".

If it were designed by a perfect designer it would be perfect.
But it's not perfect, in spite of what the ID proponents perceive and want others to perceive.
Living things have developed to fit into niches where they can thrive. Sometimes they don't. This is a process where imperfection can be extant throughout the biological world(s).
Case in point: the human female's birth canal. This developed from evolution, and if highly imperfect. A baby must maneuver an intricate course, having to make a 90o turn in the process of being born. This has caused untold stillbirths, deaths in childbirth, deformities, etc. Being an imperfect outgrowth of the evolutionary process of human development to an upright, bipedal creature fits quite well.
However, it cannot fit the concept of intelligent design. A perfect, intelligent designer would not have designed such a system that kills millions of women and innocent babies. The imperfection of the design itself testifies against an intelligent designer.
