KaBooM, there is a lot in our country that needs to be fixed, but it has gone on for so long I think no one knows how to fix it.

America was formed after a bloody civil war. The citizens untied against a common enemy, and were willing to fight for their freedom. Just look at the lyrics to the national anthem--they're all about fierce battles, and the flag that was still waving "O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave".
But I think you're right--the American's have lost a bit of that "come together and fight" attitude. It's a shame, since it was that very attitude that founded the country in the first place.
