LOL!

Sorry to disappoint you Pat, but we have more than our fair share of Stupid up here.

I don't know if you've seen our money lately, but it looks very similar to the cash found in most Monopoly games...even having the Queen's face plastered all over it doesn't detract from the goofiness!

And I feel quite bad for our Canadian strippers. Instead of having $1 bills tucked into their strappy undies, they get a bunch of little golden coins thrown at them--I can't help but think that being constantly pelted with change is distracting, and possibly painful.

Re: Oh I know the feeling!

My experience is frustrating enough without the language barriers; I can only imagne how much harder it would be to try and translate all of the fancy banking terms!

We should open our own bank Kaboom--the first ever Idiot Free Bank of Wire Transfers

Re: LOL!

LOL Naut!

I sometimes wonder if it's just me--maybe I don't speak clearly, or perhaps I explain things poorly. But, seeing as you've had similar problems, I'm guessing it's not all my fault...

Thanks for stopping by

Oh dear Azur!

I hope they didn't land in the middle of winter--coming into a Canadian blizzard requires a bit of planning, and a whole lot of bundling up!

Thanks for reading

This is so disappointing. I thought folks in Canada were smarter
than the average, everyday resident of Mundane, IL. I mean, born & bred in the heartland, never been further away than Disneyworld and Dollywood, you wouldn't expect 'em to know there's more than one London.  But Canadians are breathing that fresh, clear air.  From time to time they entertain the Queen - even have her likeness on their money. Sigh.

Oh I know the feeling!
Mine is on the other end of the wire.  My parents wanted to wire us the B-day money they send every year.  Usually sent with a postal money order, they wanted to wire it, It didn't arrive so they checked and they said the American side needed a 'swift code' so could I please find out the 'swift code' and send it to, and they gave me the mailing address and e-mail address of some banker.  Now.....WTF????  Do they forget I am living in a foreign country from the USof A and that nobody speaks English 'round here???  I assured them that NOBODY would know what a 'swift code' is (sounds like a coined phrase very convenient for any American Banker!!) , and this isn't even a bank that EVER does international transactions, and my Japanese bank does not even know that their bank is trying to send money, and has NO idea what is needed on the American side, they only know what THEY need and I supplied all that, that not knowing what a 'swift code' was, it would be quite impossible to explain such a thing to a Japanese banker.  My parents should know better, they used to live here, sigh.

LOL!
Some years ago I had some employees working on a temporary assignment in Paris, Ontario, a small town. I went to the bank to transfer some money to them, and when I got to the counter and told the lady what I wanted done, saying clearly Paris, Ontario, she excused herself and came back five minutes later with the manager, who told me that I would have to use the other, larger branch down the road, because they weren't doing international tranfers...I said I wasn't aware that Paris, Ontario had declared independence...

a couple of years ago
there was a couple who booked flights on the internet to London, and got a surprise to find themselves in Canada.
