Wouldn't it have been faster for those researchers
to just go sit in a bar, and watch actual humanoid males go through the same process?
I highly doubt they learned anything from the bugs that they couldn't have figured out using real, honest-to-goodness drunk men...

What about the ladylike fruit flies?
Why should they have to settle for the slowest, soberest gent among the lusty imbibers? How about letting them have a sufficient sip of the grape? Would they start dating promiscuously, perhaps hook up with a wrong guy, end up with a nest of little fruit flies before they're ready, give up on all their hopes and dreams? Only to have the hunk when she was drunk turn out to be a loser of a boozer? Or are we personifying, transferring human big-brained traits to pestilential entities?

So that's why all these little "creatures" always seem to
zygzag when they fly after spending time on rotting fruits: these fruits have fermented and are full of alcool. So the fly are drunk and fly after each other! Liike men at the local bar!LOL
