I feel badly that I somehow missed this comment a couple of days ago . . . "doubt" is a good word for it as it is self depricating enough to not imply that any of us see things more clearly than the next person. That has always been a sore point with me; People telling me that I need to open my eyes to see what they see as if I am wearing blinders and they are not.

This post is your keystone...
Enlightenment is seeing through the sham and posturing that people engage in for varying reasons. True enlightenment is seeing through one's own sham and posturing.
It comes and it goes, this clear pure light. When it is glimpsed, it can be almost unbearable. No one can live in this light all the time, we need our illusions to keep us functioning.
You are enlightened, I am enlightened, we are all enlightened ... now and then. Infrequently, to be sure.
What is the nature of this light? I call it doubt. But that's just part of my own sham and posturing....

Some very valid points here
Lets hope we can all grow to a point were we can all support causes from which all humanity can benefit instead of sitting in our little corners blaming each other for our troubles. I've come to see that you're obviously not a militant anti any religious person person, but actually someone who cares about truth and equality. Your blog heading was problematic for me at first, but I have to admit that you do get the kind of people who wants to not only shoot non-believers but also believers with only minor differences from themselves. I'll stay on the Jesus and believers team though, since that is my heritage and carries within it the values that you and all other caring people share (at least from my perspective) and I will keep on rooting for any other view that has a future of peaceful co-existence of diverse peoples in mind.
