- Go to Witnessers are salesmen and nothing more
Re: FineYoungSinger - those people need to go to salesmen school
But aren't they being paid "eternal life'? So their help isn't FREE.

jollyjeff - I was the complete opposite - they dared not witness to me
It could be hazardess for their physical well being. I was big for my age and had just spent 8 years in a catholic mission school before entering a public high school. Back then, I was a little more aggressive than I am today, . . . I'll leave how it usually went for the hapless witnessers to your imagination.

FineYoungSinger - those people need to go to salesmen school
It has been a part of the "high road" salemen's philosophy for a generation to not slag the competing product. The clear avenue to manipulating the client to purchase your product and make everyone feel good about the process, is to demonstrate the positive aspects of your product and its advantages over the competition's offerings. Not only does this approach offer a full innoculation to the dreaded deal killer known as "foot in mouth disease", symptoms of which these folks are clearly demonstrating, the positive light from which you offer wares or services, has enormous positive reflective value. That's the problem with free help, as salesmen, they are sometimes worth what they are being paid.

I got witnessed to a lot
in high school and college because I come across as approachable and non threatening. Each person who witnessed to me drove me further from Christianity.

this one really hits home today.
I had breakfast this morning with a group of my friends, and we were talking about witnessing. One friend of mine works in a Christian bookstore. She said that every single day, some customer approaches her and “witnesses” to her about how he or she’s been saved from the wretched claws of Catholicism, enumerating point after point of his or her indoctrination, and how he or she needs help in saving the rest of her family from the clutches of Rome.
Imagine their horror when it becomes clear to them that my friend is a Catholic. Of course they apologize for insulting her...they wouldn’t have dreamed of opening their fat mouths and bashing her to her face had they known she was a Catholic.
and that, in a nutshell, is what’s wrong with "witnessing".
