The beauty of questioning

Hi, Bruce.  I'm new to bloggit and pretty much jumped in and caused a stir by questioning the intentions of a certain ranting anti-Zionist (read; anti-semitic) blogger.  I was raised to believe that my Judaism should be savored, questioned, and used as a template for doing Mitzvot (good deeds) and living an ethical life.  I have a tough time with self-righteous people who believe that they, alone, know the "truth" because though I think that Jewish thought and practice is the "truth" for me, it is not for everyone.  I never take the missionary position, in other words.  I've read your blog on writing; I write a monthly column for the religion section of my city newspaper explaining Judaic practice and culture to a mostly non-Jewish population.  But I earn my income from travel writing; and I do it as humorously as possible and on rare occasions I hit funnybones!  As you said, humor is tough to pull off on the page.  It's nice to meet you.  I've "met" some great people on bloggit and hope to make it part of my daily routine - like coffee, paper and pulling my 16 year old out of bed at 6am!
