A fellow I knew...
Had a ploy, he would simply ask "say, I forget, how do you spell your name?"  One day he tried it on the golf course, and the guy he was talking to turned slowly to him and said equally slowly and deliberatley, T-O-M!  What was I talking about?

Oh, My Dear, I've forgotten your name, but I do remember your lovely

face, and how you looked last time I saw you. Have you lost weight? Had some work done? You look marvellous!  I'm sure you don't remember me, good old Joe, but it's wonderful to see you again. -- how could a girl resist a charming apology like this?

p.s. thanks for the book info.

Nautikos
You have helped me immensely. I understand George's language now! All three of those ladies had the same name (sweetie). I loses the keys he never does. You are just overwhelming us with your sage advice.  :)  I love this blog it is always fun.

What do you call the men, Buster?  Surely "sweetie" and "honey" are reserved for the ladies.

Okay Sweetie I'll do the same; I want to remember where your car keys are too! Or Honey should I worry about my own keys. In that case what did you say your name was?   lol   sam

LOL so sweetie this use of honey etc....would I be correct in believing
that these are your lovers. Yes a little trouble there if you call lucy Maude. Much better to do what you do cos knowing where those keys are for that quick get away"after" is so important.

I have known people for years...
...who's name I always forget, the minute they leave my presence! Then , there are other people who's name I remember without even trying.

Remember my piece on the same subject? I stick with 'honey' throughout. Saves a lot of embarassment.
