It was the X Prize
and offered great heaps of $ to the first American company that could orbit tourists, bring them safely home, and then do it again within 90 days. I believe it was sponsored by Lockheed-Martin, but am not fer-sure.
One of the greatest sorrows of the timing of my birth is that I was not around for the heyday of Apollo. How exciting that must have been. And how tragic that after all the time invested, money spent, advacements made, and--yes--lives lost, we stopped. We stopped. I hope I live long enough to see us start again.

Very little is off the top of my head, Ifyou-please...
One of the reasons my writing stands up to close scrutiny is precisely because I do my homework. I can post a lot of material here bewcause I have done a lot of writing, and this venue is an ideal place to gain more exposure to this material.

Sorry I can't remember the details but there was a big prize X or Y (or something
like that) it was called for the group with the best plan for a space hotel and tourism spacecraft. I met an astronaut involved with one of the groups. I wil try to dig the info out. It may be linked.
