I'm okay with machines being smarter than me
I'm pretty certain my current machine has me beat on the cleverness scale, and that's just fine.
But I don't know about all the feelings. I mean, it's hard enough to deal with human emotions...now we're going to have to start being sensitive to the computers too? I guess that means I won't be able to swear at it, or kick it when it stops working...

Nautikos
That is such a crock. So now they are giving up cloning to make tecnocuties huh? If they are that smart they will be ahead of you and pulling the plug may be prevented. This is too much!

We have to accept the power of technology but nothing can ever
replace human beings in matters of passion and wisdom.

A couple years ago a 17-year-old writer at Hugo House wrote a full-length
novel about what happened when the robots discovered they were being used -- he wrote quite a full-fledged and frightening war, all from the point of view of the robots. I often told him he should be mentoring me, instead of the other way around. As for AI critters -- I really don't think they'll replace us unless they can figure a way to exist without electricity and the fuel that generates it.

Nautikos, I will never let on to mine that it has me beat. I've always been pretty good at faking things.
