Secular society is heading for moral meltdown
In my opinion there is no limit (besides what is physically impossible) to what kind of behavior us humans are capable of. Just watch some crime channel for a day and you will realize that there are people who will do anything for apparently no logical reason other than simply because they can. These human monsters often slip through the cracks in the legal hooha and will carry their genes and lifestyle forward to the next generation. But it is popular to be seen and known to be a humane or altruistic person and show pity for these deranged people. I may be drifting too far of your point here but it is a symptom of secular society to have less and less restraint on what is deemed acceptable behavior or not. So we rather make fun of people elsewhere who practice a strict moral code, because we fear that if they were to rule us we would not be able to carry on with our own unrestrained lifestyles. I am not in favor of a draconian society that controls every aspect of our lives but I am definitely in favor of a stricter moral code when it comes to public behavior and also much stricter punishment when it comes to ignoring other peoples rights under the law.
