exactly!
and I get torn up everyday by people who want me to let things be and not take or ask the questions people don't want to answer! Nice to see someone else say it!

Justi

Same sort of stuff happening in Canada with our imports. Matter of fact I think Toronto has become more violent than New York since they cleaned up that city.

You know Justi I am beginning to appreciate my age and realizing I don't have to solve anything anymore, I just have to leave things be until it's over.

A good post and peace to you luv.

@Kabu

it really saddens me that the American people are really hated in so many places b y so many people. Unfortunately many Americans who do travel are spoilt New Yorkers, and they appear to be totally self centred and out of touch with the rest of the world. They are harming this wonderful country that I have always loved.

From your words I'm assuming that you must have had bad experiences with New Yorkers, and it's sad that you put 8,000,000 people in the same category and make one generalization of New Yorkers being "spoilt".  I can assure you that, as someone who has lived abroad for 20+ years and grew up in a bi-cultural environment, it's unnerving to see people come from all over the US and start to go crazy if, for example, they don't find a Starbucks in Italy or complain that "no one speaks English in Italy!" (and why should they - no one would be bothered to learn Italian for tourists, would they?). I don't lump everyone together and start calling everyone a redneck! I've met just as many a fine individual with whom to talk about Thucydides as those abominable ones who will complain if they don't find a 7-11 anywhere. There are other embarrassing, hair-raising stories but I'd be writing forever.

As far as Americans being hated, I feel it's still an issue that's being dragged on since the end of WW II. Take the French, for example. They gratuitously like to insult Americans but tend to forget that if had not been for the Allied Forces, they'd still be shining German shoes. It's almost something they've never forgiven us for. Same for Italy. I have met retired US war veterans in my line of work, some who even fought in WW II barely out of their teens, who specifically request to see the places where they landed on July 10, 1943, during the Allied Invasion. It happened in my parents' hometown. When I see tears well up in their eyes with their memories, it gives me all the more reason to fight tooth and nail  - which I already do anyway - with the Communists who are always protesting in the streets and saying "Down with the US!". If they have the freedom of speech they do now. it is thanks to their liberation from NaziFascism.

I hope Justi you will forgive the invasion of space, but I needed to clarify some things.

Justi I have travelled extensively throughout so much of Europe and

Yes, one time the USA was a moral and Christian community of freedom loving people who opened their doors to the disadvantaged and we looked up to their shining example.
