You have to admit, your blog title invites aggression, not?

I did read and can actually associate with most of this blog.  I held a very similar view for some years and I projected my own feelings at the time on him.  I'm really sorry for disturbing the peace here.  Looking back I wish someone would have slapped me a bit to wake me from my own atheism but I acknowledge that this was uncalled for here.  I still find it annoying to hear or read how religious peoples' views are downplayed and if it is insinuated that they are less than intelligent.  I would have been a strong supporter of this blog some time ago and recognize the more than adequate intelligence displayed therein.  Each to his own then.

anything with this kind of mudslinging going on?  Did this person even read the post before cussing you out like that??

MyrddinWyllt - I'll try to get over the dissapointment of your not reading

my blog.

The closing lines of your last comment are unecessary. If you were to examine your own behavior honestly, you would see that it is not I who feels it necessary to leave insulting comments for people whom I disagree with. Nor are you likely to find too many instances of my implying that my "atheist" views are superior to the views of others, especially considering that I am an agnostic.

As for Richard Dawkins . . . they don't give Oxford Chairs to monkeys.

bible smashing you practice.  By the way, I've read I have read your blog from time to time because you do write some interesting stuff sometimes and you are obviously not stupid.  I was merely getting bored with the continuousDawkins' books and although he makes sense on a lot of subjects, his view on God is limited to his own limited experience of Judeo-Christian theology.  His views on genetics are old fashioned compared to someone like Craig Venters'.  His arguments are repetitive to the point of utter boredom.  He avoids the issue of consciousness and awareness completely because he has no clue on the subject.  He even sometimes acknowledges that some old time philosophers (whose names I cannot remember now - mostly due to lack of interest) thought that certain of their assumptions were obvious while he thinks they are very complex issues while they seemed pretty obvious to me too.  You can say what you like about the guy, I still think he is way less intelligent than he and you seem to think.  His ideas about memes are not that new or unique.  He is the source of many "memes" that act like a disease himself.  He admits to not understanding mysticism.  His view on evolution and the mechanisms behind it is outdated and overly simplistic.  He should confine himself to playing with his little computer graphics evolution software and maybe disect some frogs as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, since you are so convinced that I am infantile and your atheist view so superior I will probably not read much of your blog anymore.  It has become as boring as the general atheist view.

Cheers

I remember the dinosaur guy. Granted, there's plenty of good info on the net, but if I didn't read about it somewhere in print, (or on an internet archive for printed material) or can't find anything corroborating it...I gotta wonder.

Ok, gotta go feed my pet T-Rex.

FineYoungSinger - I really think that this was a case of exactly that which

you address in your closing line.

It seemed as if this man was spewing as fact, information he had read on a number of websites that were lacking any form of credibility. I've also seen it here a few times where attempts to refute what I am saying come from websites that could only be called dubious sources of information. The "dinosaurs on the Ark" guy did that a lot. He had pictures from the internet that proved mankind and dinosaurs were contemporaries.

Simple deductive reasoning should eliminate a good number of the half baked conspiracy theories we are exposed to but somehow they survive.

good move on your part.

there was this site I found surfing about 2 years ago that highlighted all of that nonsense.  It would have been 20 pages printed.  That's probably what the guy read.

Good argument for staying away from internet information that can't be backed up in print.

I thought that your comments page was more than intersting, "flutter, gutter, stutter" and the like. As usual your hit backs are deadly, the wooden mallet? I am still laughing. No wonder, your blog name is so apt "Shoot a Non Believer for Jesus".

MyrddinWyllt - "I really do not give a shit what you think of me."

Apparently you do "give a shit" to the extent that you are compelled to return and leave 4 more stupid comments.

This is a good one: "Apes like me have evolved beyond the mere bloated cerebrum and eat monkeys like you for breakfast." . . . in your dreams maybe.

This one was rather entertaining as well: "Common sense is the tool of fools.  That is why we have science and not only the pseudo science of idiots like Richard Dawkins."  . . . yeah right, as if Richard Dawkins could be referred to as an idiot.

But here is where you outdid yourself: "You atheists like denigrating believers but you can't handle the least bit of criticism." . . . your initial comment could hardly be called an example of this point, as it is beyond criticism. It is instead a childish poem constructed to be insulting to the author of blogs you seem not to have the emotional maturity to simply not read. You accuse me of denigrating others by expressing opinions in my posts that you disagree with. Yet you are clearly the transgressor, to illustrate this it may be time for you to take stock of your own behavior. First, count the number of insults you have left in your 5 most recent comments here. Next, go to your own comments and count the number of times I have done such a thing in your postings.

You are not likely to figuratively eat anyone for breakfast if you are not capable of distinguishing between criticism and childish attacks on others.

Perhaps you are used to dealing with apologetic kind hearted people.  I am not a believer or unbeliever in the old man in the sky like you.  I am a Son of man and as such a Son of God that is Life itself.  Life does not have use of Life denying monkeys for much longer.  Apes like me have evolved beyond the mere bloated cerebrum and eat monkeys like you for breakfast.

You atheists like denigrating believers but you can't handle the least bit of criticism.  You are not only lacking in depth of observational skills but are prone to emotional vulnerability.
