As a musician (I play piano), I can appreciate your choice of Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue" -- the beautiful melody line of the theme, which, to me, is reminiscent of an urban setting. I recently did a poetry reading that included this poem, and, being a lover of jazz, used John Coltrane's "Dakar" as background music. The underlying tempo reminds one of the steady rhythm of the train wheels against the steel track. Thank you for your comments and the "thumbs up."

GREEN LINE URBAN MIX (A CITY SYMPHONY)
I put a cd of RHAPSODY IN BLUE, by Gershwin, while I read this post, and it was perfection; a serendepitious meeting for me. I was fortunate to both read and hear, and see the symbiotic sense of it all. Great poem!

This is magnificent. I used to have a one hour commute via train to Montreal and this describes the sounds so perfectly. Crafting those sounds into a symphony was ingenious!

Soulspeaker, Thanks for sharing. City sounds are fascinating, especially in the context of a symphony.
