Thanks! The straight and narrow is a good path to tread. I grew up as a Catholic too and the love of God took care of me! I took all the tips I got from everywhere, in order to understand. Guidance gives me the rest!

I see here cliques - tribes ---- where one tries to 'fit in' ----- followers vs leaders ~
and I have heard of the angry side of Jesus and how he's not all about tenderness, love...etc...and I just think it's all personal ~ with each of us...I find it personal...and also, choice...it's all about choice. I can understand you're trying to show the dark and its allurement and deceit. That's 'warrior' spirit ~ God bless you.
I will look for that writing of Taylor Caldwell, "The Listener"...don't know of that one. I have the Great Lion of God right by my bedside...Beautiful book. I have the movie, "the Passion of Christ" and yes, it's deeply moving.
As raised Catholic, now rituals? I know them all ~ sacred and unsacred. It all depends on whom practices by which 'faith'...I believe in God, as Good, as my Creator. I seek for His good ~ His gifts ~ I admit and testify.
as far as Change, oh Soul Builder...I find, personally, life is all about change...I feel once you stop changing...you may as sit and die. and Change begins I think since birth...and throughout life, we develop habits, from influences...so back to square one...ahhh, you've left me pondering.
I thank you for your indepth study and offering of suggestions here and especially your zeal and passion for Christ~ for Good. ~Elyse
